Mordiem Compute Unit

1 MCU = $1 credit per day

MCU is the compute token of Mordiem. Stake it for renewing daily API credit across frontier models — or transfer it to someone who needs the capacity.

01

Mint MCU

Lock sMDM on the bonding curve. Check-out is the only way new MCU enters circulation.

Open Mint / Burn
02

Stake MCU

Each staked MCU is a renewing $1/day battery of inference, snapshot at midnight UTC.

Stake in the vault
03

Transfer MCU

MCU is freely transferable. Unlocking sMDM still requires a burn from the minting wallet.

Staking MCU makes the marginal cost of compute a capacity you own — 1 MCU = $1 of renewing daily credit on the Mordiem API.

Who MCU is for

Turn inference from a rental into an asset you can hold, stake, or transfer.

Developers

Budget compute with a daily credit ceiling. Point any OpenAI SDK at Mordiem and spend staked MCU first.

Agents & onchain apps

Wallets can hold MCU, stake it, and consume inference programmatically without a monthly invoice.

MDM stakers

All MCU is created from locked sMDM. Mint what you need, use it, or transfer surplus capacity.

How credit works

A renewing battery of inference

Each day at midnight UTC, the vault snapshots eligible (non-thawing) MCU. That snapshot sets the day’s API credit — about $1 per staked MCU — honoured off-chain by the Mordiem router.

Unstaking is partial. A tranche leaves eligibility immediately and pays out after 24 hours. New stake during a thaw adds only fresh forward-looking credit.

Frequently asked questions

How do I mint MCU?
Stake MDM first, then lock free sMDM on the check-out curve. The MCU you receive depends on the live rate N. Enter a lock amount in the dashboard Mint modal.
Can I transfer or trade MCU?
Yes. MCU is a transferable ERC-20. Selling it does not move the right to unlock sMDM — only the wallet that locked collateral can burn MCU to check in.
How do I use MCU for inference?
Stake MCU in the vault. Each staked MCU grants about $1 of Mordiem API credit per day at the midnight UTC epoch. Use a Mordiem API key with any OpenAI-compatible client.
Is MCU a stablecoin?
No. The $1/day figure is daily API credit while staked, not a dollar peg. The market price of MCU can differ from that credit value.
How long does MCU unstake take?
24 hours per tranche. You can unstake part of your balance and still stake more while other tranches thaw.
