Overview

How Mordiem works

Mordiem is a compute exchange with an on-chain token economy on Base. It ties three things together: a staked base token (MDM), a compute-credit token (MCU), and a capital loop that turns deposited yield into MDM buyback-and-burn.

1 · Stake MDM

Stake MDM to get sMDM 1:1 and earn the staker half of daily emission. Free sMDM earns the full rate; unstaking is a 7-day thaw.

2 · Mint MCU

Lock free sMDM on the bonding curve to mint MCU. Stake MCU to receive about $1/day of API credit per unit, snapshotted at midnight UTC.

3 · Provide capital

Deposit USDC, wstETH, MOR, or VVV. Keep your principal; the yield funds MDM buyback-and-burn, and you earn the capital half of emission.

4 · Build with the API

Create an API key and call the OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Pay per token, with card, crypto, or staked-MCU credit.

Tokenomics

Tokens, emission & the capital loop

MDM — the base token

MDM is Mordiem’s base token on Base (chain 8453). Genesis supply is minted to the treasury; all further MDM enters circulation only through the emission curve. Stake MDM to receive non-transferable sMDM 1:1 and earn a share of daily emission.

Emission curve

Emission follows a closed-form curve from genesis, paid continuously. Each interval’s emission is split 50% to sMDM stakers and 50% to capital providers, each pro-rata within its half. Locked sMDM forfeits half of its staker share to the treasury, so free staking always out-earns locked collateral.

sMDM — staked position

sMDM is your staked MDM. It is not transferable and not a wrapper. Free sMDM earns the full staker rate; locked sMDM (collateral behind MCU) earns half until you burn MCU to unlock it. Unstaking free sMDM takes a 7-day thaw.

MCU — compute units

Lock free sMDM on the bonding curve to mint MCU at rate N = reserve MDM / reserve MCU. Staked MCU earns roughly $1/day of Mordiem API credit per unit, snapshotted at midnight UTC. MCU is a transferable ERC-20, but the right to unlock the sMDM behind it stays with the minting wallet.

Capital loop & buyback

Capital providers deposit USDC, wstETH, MOR, or VVV. Principal stays yours (7-day thaw to withdraw); the yield is surrendered to the treasury. USDC-native yield routes straight into the Buyback Ledger for MDM buyback-and-burn; in-kind yield (wstETH/MOR/VVV) is converted by the treasury. Providers earn the capital half of daily emission.

Governance

All upgrades and privileged parameters flow through a 10-day TimelockControllerwith the treasury multisig as proposer/executor. Adapters are non-upgradeable and swapped individually behind the same delay. A pause-only guardian can halt deposits/harvest in an emergency but can never move funds.

On-chain

Deployed contracts

Live on Base mainnet (chain 8453), verified on Basescan. Governance runs through a 10-day timelock; the deployer holds no roles.

MOR bridge stakers

Three rotating staker proxies for one MDM-owned Morpheus subnet, isolating MDM from the legacy subnets.
